The Communications Designer brings the visual and written voice of Wellspring Franklin to life through thoughtful, engaging design and communication. This role creates content across print, digital, social media, email, and web platforms, helping ministries communicate clearly and consistently while reflecting the vision, mission, values, and heartbeat of Wellspring.

The Communications Designer works collaboratively with the Communications Manager and staff to understand communication needs and provide creative solutions.

• Ability to manage multiple creative projects, shifting priorities, and time-sensitive requests while maintaining quality and attention to detail

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build healthy relationships across ministries and departments

• Ability to receive feedback, ask thoughtful questions, and translate ministry goals into effective creative solutions

Wellspring is seeking individuals who desire to…

• Design print and digital materials for a variety of ministries, events, and and church-wide initiatives

• Develop creative content that supports the visual identity and communication strategy of Wellspring Franklin

• Write and edit short-form copy that reflects the vision, mission, and voice of Wellspring and communicates clearly to its intended audience

• Create and coordinate content for social media platforms

• Draft and build email campaigns

• Create and maintain content for the church website

• Prepare final files for print and digital production

• Maintain consistency in Wellspring’s visual identity across ministries, platforms, and communications

• Prayerfully support the Communications Department in implanting Wellspring Franklin’s core values and primary expressions

Technical & Creative Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

• Strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, branding, and visual hierarchy

• Experience preparing files for print and digital production

• Strong short-form copywriting and editing skills, with examples available in a portfolio

• Experience creating digital and social. media content

• Experience with Canva

• Experience editing photography

• Experience working with Squarespace or another website content management system

Portfolio Requirement

Applicants must submit a portfolio demonstrating their design experience. Portfolios should include examples go digital and print design, social media content, branding or campaign work, and/or other relevant communications projects. We are especially interested in seeing how you use design to communicate a clear message with purpose, creativity and heart.

Hours

This is a part-time, non-exempt position of up to 25 hours per week. There may be times when responsibilities exceed those hours and you will be eligible for overtime.

Oversight

The Communications Designer reports to the Communications Manager.
