Our name has changed.
On Sunday, June 9, our church gathered together for our first-ever Family Vision Night. During this evening, members of our vision & executive leadership teams unpacked what the Lord has been speaking to us, and the magnitude it will have on us as a church family.
Over the last twenty-plus years we have received many profound promises from the Lord about His dreams for our church and this region. In this most recent season, we have felt His invitation to align both our ways and our identity with these words. Like Abraham in the Bible, there came a time when the Lord not only stated His covenant with Abraham, but also said,
“What’s more, I am changing your name”
-Genesis 17:5a
He tethered Abram’s identity to the promise He made.
This is the season we have found ourselves in as a church: He is changing our name! It is with a lot of awe and excitement that we share with you:
Grace Center is officially now Wellspring Franklin.
This change will be taking place over the next few months and this new website signals the start of this new identity for our ministry.
As you can imagine, a decision like this was not made lightly. If you were unable to attend our Family Vision Night, we encourage you to take the time to watch the video below, where we share more about this journey and where we believe the Lord is pointing us in this new season.
With this new change, we feel the renewed call to become who God has said we are. We are first, and foremost, a place where He can rest, and secondly, a place to which the thirsty can gather and His presence can pour out to our city, the nation, and beyond.
This is the meaning behind the new mantra (Pour Out) the Lord has given us as a leadership team, and we are asking all of you who feel called to be part of our church family to pour out with us as we continue to live out the mission, vision, and values, and core DNA that are still all the same they were when we were Grace Center.
While our internal DNA, mission, vision, values, core truths, and more have NOT changed, some things have. Not only has our name changed, but along with it much of our visual identity has too–something we feel is important as we anchor together in living out who God has called us to be for our city, state, nation, and world.
You’ll see an elevated visual presence and more consistent identity across everything we do, not to promote ourselves or try to build some sort of monetized brand around ourselves, but so that we can draw those we feel the Lord wants to draw to our ministry in this new season.
We are excited about how the Lord is building His Church, and believe He has appointed each of us for such a time as this.
